Music for those artists is like an act of breathing, you don’t get exhausted from breathing they don’t get exhausted from music. One such outstanding artist is Neha Dogra. She is the next generation of a family of musical giants and she is determined to maintain the family heritage intact. Neha exhibited indications of possible excellence in her early days; the environment in her family strengthened her potential talent as a musician into a melodious voice as an honour from her family to the field of music. We do not typically consider the girl as the flag bearer of the family name but she shattered the stereotype and evolved the sensational Ghazal-Gayika that she is today. Neha acknowledges that music will help you dissolve your complexities and purify your character and sensibilities, and in time of care and sorrow, will keep a fountain of joy alive in you. She is that youngster in the household who continuously insisted that the folk must either instruct her to fly or enlighten her to sing and with hard work, she is now able to fly through her music. Neha’s music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.

Neha, with her accumulating interest for Computers she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application from Himachal University in the year 2007-2010 with a remarkable 75 percentile. She obtained her Masters in the same domain of Computer Applications from the Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala with 71 percentile. Neha’s academic excellence proved that she is a focused breadwinner but her fascination for music had tightened its hold on her with time. She worked on a project entitled “University Music Department Website”. She is presently enrolled in Ph.D. with the Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala researching Music Technology (Indian Laptop Orchestra (InLOrk) for Digital Artists). Computer music is a modern vision and supposedly the future of music all around the globe. The prominence of an artist is based on a lot more of vision than on potential. Neha has taken this endeavour upon her own hands to carry Music Technology to a broader outlet.

During her academic days, she performed in numerous Ghazal Concert orchestrated by Universities and private organizations and these concerts were highly publicized in many different newspapers. She bestowed an interview in the program “Gallan te Geet” at Doordarshan Jalandhar in June 2016. Everyone is an artist as a child, what amounts to something is what you do with that passion when you grow up. A creative person is a teenager who survived.

She received the “ Youth Achiever” honour in the program “Supneyan di Udaan” by Doordarshan Jalandhar in 2017. She performed in a Ghazal Concert in the World Book Fair organized by National Book Trust in collaboration with Punjabi Academy Delhi in January 2018. She worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Khalsa College, Shri Anandpur Sahib during the session 2013-14. She tutored as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University College, Ghanaur during the session 2014-15. Presently, Neha is serving as a Senior Research Fellow with the Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala since June 2017 and has moreover worked as a Junior Research Fellow from June 2015 to June 2017. She yearns to be a pioneer by cultivating a fusion of Computer Technology and Music in the context of Indian Music. He gave an interview in the program “NAVI UDAARI” at Doordarshan Jalandhar in December 2019.

Neha submitted her paper on Computer Music: towards the evolution of The Music Machine for Musicians in a National Seminar titled “Creative Practice and Research in Digital Media Art” organized by Department of Fine Arts, Punjabi University Patiala in April 2016. Neha’s scrutiny paper on Role of electronic devices in Classical Music in National Conference titles “Transformation in Music and Music Education: A Multifaceted Analysis” organized by Department of Music, GNC Budhlada in April 2017. She is constantly making errands to develop a new arena in the genre of music and is determined to stop at no expense. Neha Dogra along with Sunil Gazal, another prominent towering figure in the field of Ghazal-Gayaki made history by performing a concert at Kala Bhawan, Punjabi University Patiala devoted to Amrita Pritam on her 100th birth anniversary organized by the university and Punjab Art Council, Chandigarh. It was the first time that someone made an effort to compose the greatest name of YouTube.

Neha’s melodious voice provides a refuge and a sanctuary in an otherwise harsh realm. The intensity of life hardens us but the intensity of life deepens us. She sees and perceives what other people get a glimpse of and ignore. She is the only active female Punjabi Ghazal-Gayika in the present times. She is working hard on on her upcoming Punjabi Ghazal albums which could change the face of Punjabi Ghazal-Gayaki through the fusion of Computer technology and her marginalized music. Neha is an authentic artist not because she is inspired but because she inspires other, as a mentor she is reputed to be a continuous motivating force behind aspiring talent. An active music economy not only works for therapy but in practice the proper implementation of it works as an opportunity to create more jobs and increase employment in the particular nation-state. After she finishes off her Ph.D. She would resume toiling in the field of Computer Music and take this new form of art to tremendous altitudes. She invariably wants to specialize as an educator in schooling Computer Music and carrying her family legacy ahead. She has day in and day out proved that her research work is the potential future in the domain and that would make her immortal in the books of Ghazal-Gayiki.
