CELEBRATING KRISHNA’S LIFE AND FOLK LORE

from Classics to Contemporary

Vidhi Sharma, a playback singer and a voice to reckon with, has been performing around the world for more than a decade now. She is a professionally trained singer in Hindustani Classical and Light classical music.

​

Vidhi has won the GIMA Award Global Indian Music award for her collaboration with international artists like Karsh Kale, Midival Punditz etc for the album Cinema in the best fusion album category. A recipient of Swami Haridas Sangeet Kala Ratna Award; she has also been awarded the title of “Bhakti ki Awaaz” on Zee tv by Padmashri Anup Jalota, Padmashri Jagjit Singh, Padmashri Kailash kher.

An extremely versatile artist, Vidhi is adept at performing genres from Indian semi classical, devotional, Sufi, ghazals to folk music. Apart from lending her voice for hindi films like the National Award winning film Paan Singh Tomar, Listen Amaya, Rabba Main Kya Karoon ( Salim Sulaiman); Bunkar (National award winning short film based on last generation of Varanasi weavers); she is also known for working on rare concepts for her own stage productions like the only musical based on Sant Kabir titled Kabir- Antarman ki Awaaz; The Ghazal Fusion Collective- from Classics to Contemporary; Seasons with Krishna- celebrating Krishna’s life and folk lore around the six seasons through pioneering poetries of 15th century and the recent initiative titled Vidhi Sharma’s Mehfil-e-Lockdown with Legends of Ghazals on her official Facebook page.

Her fusion collaboration with three times Grammy nominee Pt Ajay Prasanna through the band Secret Weapon has also been widely appreciated. Her collaboration with Grammy awardee Ricky Kej is released recently in a German documentary titled Sounds of Nature. An A grade artist from the All India Radio, Vidhi has performed at various national and international music festivals like Baalbeck International Festival, Lebanon; IIFA Mula Festival, Madrid; Monsoon Nirvana, Hyderabad; Jahan-e-Khusrau, Delhi; Jaipur Literature Festival etc.

Her soulful rendition of Bhor Bhayi Aarti released on mystica music has triggered more than 8 million views apart from several bhajans, ghazals and Geet released by music labels like T Series, HMV Saregama, Mystica Music, 360 degree records, USA etc.
